Alcoholism, Cause and Cure

As the son of a mother who was an alcoholic, I can tell you from direct experience of the cause of alcoholism. Unlike food that satisfies a physical need, the alcohol provides no food body responds to a spiritual need.

Alcohol is an anesthetic and hallucinogenic chemical that reduces the emotional pain of his existence. The rodent internal dissatisfaction with life is the main reason for addiction. Young men who lack the courage in themselves tothe approach of a young think drinking will decline if their inhibitions go away. Where dissatisfaction is ultimately with himself and his life. Unfortunately, many have used substances prior to working on themselves inside. Once the substance disappears you got the same personal challenges and emotional pain to control.

My mother has always been troubled by the fact that she was adopted. Although my grandparents beloved gave him all their love and everything under the sunshe found no comfort inside. All my childhood all I knew my mother was that she was either drunk, in jail under arrest, or a mental ward receiving treatment for psychiatric rehabilitation. I have fond memories of when I was about 5 years of my mother rubbing my back while I lay in my bed, a sweet experience I savor.Thankfully my maternal grandparents, the father and the beautiful Mother stood aside and took care of me without my mother.

Alcoholicshave an intense spiritual thirst if not satisfied will drive them in their quest to find spiritual harmony by which they can be made whole. The hippie movement of the 1960s rejected the spread of materialism their parents had to replace them as a spiritual quest. Unfortunately their parents belong to a generation of slightly neglected to offer their children some of the true spiritual riches that they had as they went hard after obtaining for them the things they did not.How ironic that the first American generation to have everything was the generation that turned to substances to find relief.

The great Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung wrote a letter in January 1961 to Bill Wilson (founder of Alcoholics Anonymous): "Alcohol in Latin spiritus, and you use the same password for most religious experience and for poison most depraved. "

Jesus said: "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. Thethe true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such worshipers. "(John 4:24,23)

Jesus told the Samaritan woman seeking to draw water from the well, "Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again:" Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst but the water I give him shall be in a well of water springing up into everlasting life. "(John 4:13-14)

Unfortunately my mother got one religion deadhis education and never found its way to the best bartender - Christ, the head of the Church. Her name is Marsha Anne Krofchik, a cheerleader who attended Boone High School (one of two high schools in Orlando before Disney World came to town). She said the Homecoming court, graduated from UCF honors and was told by an officer of Orlando Police Department who knew it was the most beautiful girl in the city of Orlando in his day. Marsha unfortunately never found its interiorbeauty.

Aunt Paulette, his cousin told me that when she saw Marsha she is smiling real pretty or cry almost as if something deep in the bother. I was 2 years old then.

My grandfather Paul Krofchik (retired Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army) that everyone said was the best man they had never met was deeply disturbed by the battle, his only child with the bottle. He would often drive around town looking for him. I once saw it written on the outside of a local bar,"Do not let Marsha in here!"

Daddy's little girl died one morning at 2am when running in a drunken street. She was hit by an 18-year-old driver was drunk. Drinking and driving is a deadly combination.

My father said at the funeral, he had never seen my grandfather looked so serious. Pop-Pop (as I affectionately called my grandfather) was like a father to me. Me and my grandmother Nana and he loved us. He never missed one of my baseball games. He participated in Cubwith me. And much more!

Ironically Pop-Pop had a problem putting the bottle too, although it was a functional alcoholic. Apparently, after losing her daughter, Marsha and almost losing my Nana too due to a hiatal hernia Pop-Pop started to find a temporary degree of comfort in the bottle.

I noticed when I was at my grandparents and using Pop-Pop's car he had hidden a few bottles of vodka in his little chest. Perhaps in some strange way that is how it got closed tohis daughter died. I tried to deal gently with this and ask him to drink only at home and not in his car behind the wheel. His eyesight was not the best anyway. Some years after my mother died, Pop-Pop took a bad fall around 11:30 hours at a local grocery store. I have spoken with him to the emergency room where he was admitted for the night. It was the last conversation I had with him, as in 24 hours, he had a stroke and lost his ability to speak. Then they went to the store to retrieve his carI found two small bottles of vodka in the compartment door (one of which had been opened and was half empty).

Pop-Pop passed his bed two months, mounted in a nursing home and then he died. My Nana and I missed him terribly.

All I can say is please do not drink alcohol and submitted to your relatives for such pain and misery.

The "new wine" of heaven is available to anyone who wants to drink it (Acts 2:13). Ask and invite the Holy Spirit that Christ rose from the dead to come andfill your heart broken in the name of Jesus. I promise you once you taste the river of life by the Mighty Holy Spirit will never thirst again! (Apocalypse 22:17)
